  1. When you start an SPSS Session, 
  2. SPSS opens Input Window:Untitled-1.
  3.  
  4. In this empty window you can enter commands
  5. or create them with the Command Generator.
  6. To create more than one command file
  7. during a session, open a window for each file.

  9. To open a new Input Window
  10.   • Choose New from the File menu.
  11.  
  12. As an alternative to creating a command file
  13. in an SPSS input window, you can use a text
  14. editor.  In order for SPSS to be able to execute
  15. the commands, you must save the file as
  16. TEXT ONLY.

  18. To load a command file created with another
  19. text editor
  20.   • Choose Open from the File menu.
  21.     (If the file does not appear in the dialog
  22.     box, it is not a TEXT ONLY file.)
